Forward Agenda 2018
Below is the list of our events until summer 2018!
Programme January – May 2018:
February 22nd – LHE Workshop in London looking at best-practice while working on research projects with SMEs and corporate partners. The session will aim to support member institutions to improve their understanding of, and relations with, SMEs. This is in the context of the increasing focus of the European Research and Innovation programmes on research commercialisation.
March 14-15 - LHE Steering Group Meeting, Brussels. Following on from the success of last year’s Steering Group meeting in Brussels, the group decided to continue this for 2018. The meeting is open to nominated points of contact in member institutions and will provide direction for the groups activities for the people until March 2019. Guest speakers will be confirmed closer to the time, as will meetings with the European Commission and other EU stakeholders.
March 22 - UniLion Brexit event, Brussels. London Higher Europe was a founding partner of the UniLion network in 2016, and this will be the first event run by their Brexit working group. The event will bring stakeholders together and outline key messages relating to the importance of EU Research and Innovation collaborations. More information to follow.
April 17th – LHE Workshop on Brexit and the Implications for Framework Programme 9, London. Since the result of the vote LHE has been organising regular Brexit themes events. Michael Browne, UCL’s Head of Research and Innovation, will be leading the workshop and looking at the shape of the next programme after Horizon 2020.
May 17th – Re-scheduled Food Working Group Meeting, London. This meeting will gather academics from member institutions together with Horizon 2020 national contact point for food Ian Holmes, Innovate UK. This meeting will look at the 2019 Calls and plan a showcase event in Brussels to help researchers from among member institutions to broaden their European contacts in the context of funding programmes.
May (Dates TBC) – Seminar on European Territorial Cooperation Programmes. LHE is in the process of planning a seminar in conjunction with the national contact point for the URBACT III funding stream. The seminar will outline what funding is available for projects and how Universities can get involved in the 2018 call.
