Biography:

Dr Girina Earned his PhD from Warwick University in 2015, after completing his MA and BA in Italy at the Università degli Studi di Cagliari. In 2015 Dr Girina began working as a teaching fellow in the Department of Films studies at King’s College, London. He moved to Brunel University, London in August 2017.

Research Interests:

Dr Girina’s current research looks at the influence of cinema on contemporary video games, with specific focus on their formal features. Through the identification and analysis of these formal instances, the category of the cinematic game demonstrates the relevance and importance of film theory to game studies.
