Ms Plank obtained her MSc with distinction in Development Studies from the University of London in 2010. She worked concurrently in the fashion industry as a senior trend researcher focusing on creative trend analysis, innovation and marketing insights for the creative industries. She also worked directly with leading European brands on brand strategy. She began teaching at Norwich University of the Arts, Manchester Metropolitan University, Winchester School of Art and University of Lincoln as a guest lecturer before being offered a full-time position at the University of East London in August 2016.
Ms Plank recently moved into academic from industry, where she has over 12 years’ experience in working for business insight agenices . Her research interests focus on creating and evaluating digital storytelling and specifically the use of mixed reality technologies as tools to evoke empathy and inspire behaviour change.
